Gryphon Twister Grinder
Pump Alignment
UNPLUG GRINDER FIRST!!!!!
Referring to the photograph below, you can see a magnet assembly on the end of the motor shaft that rotates when the grinder is in use. This creates a rotating magnetic field that operates the turbine inside the pump, and forces the water through the pump. In order for this to work properly, it is very important that the magnet be positioned directly oposite the pole pieces inside the pump. Sometimes the pump can be pressed towards the motor and out of range of the magnet. This most often happens when the upper part of the grinder is placed directly on the tabletop while changing the grinder from a flat position to an inclined position. Because the pump is the lowest item in the assembly, the entire weight of the grinder top is placed on the pump, forcing it towards the motor. If this happens, you can restore full operation of the pump simply by pulling the pump away from the motor as illustrated by the arrow in the illustration. The pump will stop moving when it has reached its proper position. When you place the upper part of the grinder back on the base and add water, the pump should now work. In order to prevent this problem in the future, make sure that the pump never rests directly on the table top and gets forced out of position.
